About Slow Food Rio Vista
Slow Food Rio Vista is our local chapter of the Slow Food USA national movement.

What is Slow Food?

Slow Food is an idea, a way of living and a way of eating. It is part of a global, grassroots
movement with thousands of members in over 150 countries, which links the pleasure of food
with a commitment to community and the environment.

About Our Local Chapter

Organized by volunteer leaders, local chapters carry out the Slow Food mission in their
communities. Chapters offer educational events and activities to promote sustainability and
biodiversity and connect farmers, cooks, educators, students and everyone else who cares
about their food and the environment.

Support Slow Food USA

Over 75% of Slow Food USA's annual budget comes from individual donors. Can you help?

In 2014, Slow Food USA and our more than 200 local chapters are committed to planting more community gardens, demanding
better treatment of food workers and animals, and defending our most vulnerable food traditions. But we can only do this work
because of your continued support.
